XX. Judgment (The Sarcophagus)

Brotherhood of Light Tarot: Arcanum XX. The Sarcophagus

Arcanum XX. Judgement (The Sarcophagus)

The Sarcophagus is the final stop just before the journey is complete—it’s Judgment. Once we see the light of the Sun, the mind experiences the union of The Magus (conscious) and Isis Unveiled (unconscious) that brings about a revolutionized relation within the Sarcophagus. We lay the old perceptions to rest in the sarcophagus, yet all eyes must now come forth—startled from a resting state, they awaken to the sound of fate. In redemption, we greet the master of potentiality. In Judgment, the trumpets herald a higher calling—the purpose of one’s task is written by the golden dawn of which each and every one is destined. This new paradigm forms the reestablished interaction between the conscious and unconscious minds and reflects our surveyance of each former station along the road of Time. The resurrection of the Sarcophagus is our response to a song of potentiality sounded by the higher self—the integrated expression of total conscious perception. Now we have the ears to hear the true voice of pure reason, power and wisdom. In perceiving the song, the mind recognizes in body we may be single, but in soul never.

If this is your card, you are about to uncover a personal truth. Let’s hope you’ve prepared well, because the change may come as a drastic surprise, ridden with despise or even charm the eyes. You might very soon start to look up, as the passing scenes that built the old conditions of each former station fall away to set the stage for the next cycle of the World. The truth and effort of the outcome lies in the truth of the efforts once applied. We see an echo of the beginning energy manifest with the end–and the result does not lie! Is your higher self satisfied? The surface reality of one’s own nature comes to reflect that which is sealed inside the sarcophagus of the mind and harvested over time. Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.
